Breitenau Memorial is located in Guxhagen, 15 km south of Kassel, right next to Autobahn A7 (Fulda - Kassel) near the exit Guxhagen. The memorial was established in the former tithe barn of the monastery on the site of a Vitos Kurhessen facility for people with chronic mental illness. Guxhagen is also easily accessible by train. Trains from the stations Kassel Hauptbahnhof or Bahnhof Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe take about 20 minutes. It is roughly a 10-minute walk from the Guxhagen train station to the memorial. Buses also run between Kassel and Guxhagen.
